Reach Out and Write

Are you willing to help identify older adults who are socially isolated and lonely? United Way has asked Wisdom Keepers to participate in a project to connect older adults and young people. United Way will find the young people who are willing to send cards or letters to senior adults, but they need help finding the senior adults who are isolated, lonely, feeling the weight of social isolation. These connections will provide encouragement to seniors, especially during the holidays, and is part of United Way’s focus this year on the mental health of our community. Forum Communications will help market the campaign. Linda Stacy is the project lead.

United Way Supporting Children

Wisdom Project 2030 is partnering with United Way to support school children who need hand sanitizer, masks and books.  If you are looking for a safe way to get out and get involved, we are continuing to meet regularly at the United Way offices to cut fabric and elastic for masks and fill bottles of hand sanitizer. Fabric for cutting and sewing kits are also available for volunteers to take home. United Way provides the finished goods to area families. Meeting evites are sent. We will meet safely and socially distanced at the United Way building, 527 Oak Street (wear a mask) or take work home to be completed on your own time.  This will be limited to the first 10 yes-rsvps in order to maintain proper social distancing.
